Xin Yu is currently a PhD student with the FSU Department of Economics. She received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics and master’s degree in Economics, from Liaoning Normal University of China. She previously participated in three research projects, published four papers and compiled two books with her former professor in China, including the creation of an index system involving optimization of “main function zoning” in Liaoning province, the economic analysis and evaluation of regional economic development (including three Rural Issues), and research related to regional marine economic systems in Liaoning Province. Her research interest(s) include regional economic development, economic forecasting and spatial econometrics. She is well versed in using statistical software, and ESDA, among other economic GIS software applications.
