Julie Harrington, PhD
Dr. Harrington holds a doctorate in Economics and an MS in Fisheries from Auburn University. She has an
extensive background in econometric and statistical analysis, and natural resource and environmental economics. She has worked as a management consultant and for the State of Florida. In addition, previous work has comprised research on aquaculture, fisheries and water resources. Her primary research efforts are directed towards energy economics; such as the economic analysis of high tech (superconducting) materials. Additional projects include economic impact studies, economic analysis of University Research Centers and Institutes, the New Economy Index for the high tech industry in Florida, and participation on the Governor's Florida's Energy 20/20 Study Commission, among others. The Center for Economic Forecasting and Analysis also performs pro bono economic studies for non-profit organizations and community projects. Dr. Harrington also works with statistical and input-output modeling software
(REMI (Regional Economic Modeling Inc) and IMPLAN).

Researcher
Bassam Awad
Bassam Awad is currently a PhD candidate at the Department
of Economics at FSU in his third year. He has an MA
degree in Economics
from Yarmouk University in Jordan in 1993, MBA Degree from the University
of Jordan in Jordan in 1997, and MS degree in Economics from Florida State
University in 2006. He worked in the Research Department at the Central
Bank of Jordan for more than 12 years. His experience related to various
economic issues, the job duties were varied, but it included mostly the
international economic issues, papers and reports related to Jordan. He
has a good experience in working with various econometric and statistical
packages such as Stata, LaTeX, WinEdt, MATLAB, SPSS, Mathematica, Limdep
and Eviews. He published a book about data extraction for analyzing financial
statement in 2004 (in Arabic). He has a good writing and translation
skills form English into Arabic. He is married and has four kids. He says
that his father, mother and wife have given him inspiration and best
support in his life.

Alachua Haskins
Alachua
Haskins is a recent graduate of
Lincoln
High School
. She returned in December from a four-month study abroad program in
Israel
, where, along with learning about the culture, the people, and the religion,
she became very interested in foreign economics. At
Lincoln
, she took an economics course and continued to be fascinated by the subject,
which led her to a position at CEFA. She will be traveling to
Poland
in September to spend nine-months working with a rabbi to help rebuild the
devastated Jewish community. After Alachua returns from this adventure, she
plans on going to university to major in Judaic Studies, and continue on to
Rabbinical school.
