Alachua Haskins

Alachua Haskins is a recent graduate of Lincoln High School . She returned in December from a four-month study abroad program in Israel , where, along with learning about the culture, the people, and the religion, she became very interested in foreign economics. At Lincoln , she took an economics course and continued to be fascinated by the subject, which led her to a position at CEFA. She will be traveling to Poland in September to spend nine-months working with a rabbi to help rebuild the devastated Jewish community. After Alachua returns from this adventure, she plans on going to university to major in Judaic Studies, and continue on to Rabbinical school.

Research Assistant
Abdulaziz Abosag

Abdulaziz Abosag is a Master student at the Department of Economics at FSU. He has a BA with Honors in Economics and Minor in Mathematics and Business from St. Thomas University in Canada in 2007. He is planning to obtain his PhD in Finance. He has experience with STATA, MATLAB and Excel.

Dongyku Won

 

Dongkyu Won is a current Doctoral student in FSU. He got his Master and Bachelor degree from Sogang University in South Korea in 2001 and 2003 respectively. Before working for CEFA, Dongkyu Won worked as a research assistant for Korea Energy Economics Institute(KEEI) and the staff in an account section of an automobile company, Kia motors. Thus, he has a experience in collecting and analyzing the data as well as in dealing with accounting stuffs. He is proficient with many statistical software packages, such as SAS, Microsoft Excel, GAUSS and MATLAB. Econometrics and Public Finance are his major concerns. Especially, Dongkyu Won hopes to design an efficient taxation system minimizing the distortion.

 

Jinjin Guo

Jinjin Guo, as a student of Economics both for MS from Florida State University and BA from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China. She has gained a strong background in this displine. Before working for CEFA, she worked on market analysis, product development and marketing for the Beijing representative office of Asianwok.com, LLC, an e-commerce trade company with its headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. She is proficient with various statistical and business software packages, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Stata, Quickbook and is currently working on SAS and E-Synchronist. Her research is focused on Econometric analysis, Economic forecasting and Business/Marketing analysis. She had been working in a "partnership" position with CEFA and the Leon County/Tallahassee Economic Development Council from May, 2006 to July, 2006. She is enthusiastic and excited about her research projects for CEFA. And she is also the CEFA webmaster. She is studying the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) material, intending to pursue the CFA charter in the future.

Wei-Shiun Chang

Wei-Shiun Chang is a current Doctoral student in FSU. He finished his Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and Master’s degree in Business Administration in Taiwan. He also got a Master of Science at IUP in the United States in 2005, majoring in labor law and safety management. He worked as a marketing researcher for a telecommunication company and a research assistant while he was doing his master in Taiwan. Wei-Shiun serves as a researcher and webmaster for CEFA, he is skilled at SPSS (working on SAS), Frontpage, and Flash MX. Having an engineering background, Wei-Shiun has a sense to analyze and solve the problem by scientific viewpoint. His studies focus on urban development and environment economics, Wei-Shiun is excited at his researches and projects in the CEFA and looking forward to publish his work in the near future.

 

Doug Roe

Doug holds a BS in Economics from Florida State University, which was obtained from August 2002-2005.Currently, Doug completed his Masters of Science in Economics at FSU in August 2006.Before coming to CEFA, he served as a frozen and dairy foods manager at the second largest grocery retailer in America, Albertsons, Inc., in Tallahassee, FL for three years. Currently he works with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Washington, D.C. beginning in September 2006. Some of his independent research had pertained to labor and sports economics, as well as demography. Also, he is proficient numerous statistical software packages, such as Excel, Stata, SAS and EVIEWS. In the future, he intends to pursue a doctorate in economics after working in the field.

 

Abdulbasit Aydin

Abdulbasit "Akif" Aydin got his Master degree from the FSU Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in May, 2006. He has a Bachelors degree in Economics from Ankara University Department of Political Sciences. He plans to make his PhD in Economics. He is an experienced user of various statistical and mathematical software packages such as Microsoft Excel and SPSS. In addition, he has experience in designing, maintaining and administering websites. He is proficient in Html, PowerPoint, Microsoft FrontPage, Microsoft Access, and Macromedia Dreamweaver. Previously, Mr. Aydin was a broadcaster on local radio station in Ankara, Turkey, where he discussed topics including the subject of success, personal improvement, skills and social issues. Mr. Aydin also worked as webmaster for CEFA.


Carlos Andrés Proaño M

Carlos Andrés Proaño holds a BA in Finance and Economics from Quito, Ecuador. For two years, he was the economics section biweekly columnist for a national newspaper, "Diario Hoy". He also worked for two years with an industry research company writing economic reports to a target audience of business owners. In 2003, he worked for the Central Bank of Ecuador as a junior economic analyst. After being awarded a Fulbright scholarship in 2003, he applied and was accepted to the Master's program in Financial Mathematics at Florida State University. the researches and projects Mr. Proaño worked on for CEFA included linear programming modeling, and statistical analysis related to university research.
