The Economic Moment

The economic Moment is a weekly segment on public radio, which will inform, educate and possibly entertain people while discussing an issue or topic in the dynamic local, national or global economy. Each program focuses on a different subject of interest to consumers or citizens in the Big Bend area.
Guidelines for each topic include that the program subject material deals with an economic issue that is of interest to Floridians and is both topical and timely but also of interest to average consumers and/or citizens. The view taken while discussing each issue is Valve neutral, informative and provides a valuable insight to consumers otherwise not considered.
It is the goal of the program to provide the public with practical information that will help save money and better understand, anticipate and react to the moments of the economy around us all.
Topics Include:
  • Health Care
  • Insurance Issues
  • General Economic Issues
    • Employment, Unemployment and Wages trends and prognosis for Leon County and Florida
    • Housing start trends and forecasts for the region and state
    • Market Trends on Current and Future Employment in the Tallahassee, Florida, U.S. markets
  • Availability and Location for Contacting Various "Public" Programs with the Issue Under Review
    • Small Business Loans
    • College Tuition
    • Legal & Medical Services
    • Retirement Services (sites to call for information on SS and State or Government Retirement)
    • Elder Law Services Available
Each program will end with a consumer note about where you can follow up by Internet, mail or phone to get additional information on each program's subject. The topics and a transcript of each weekly segment along with any possible information or references will be kept at this sight.
