Energy and Environmental Performance of Existing
and Emerging Public Transportation Technologies

CEFA has recently concluded a study of Alternative Fuels for transit bus authorities. The report below, Energy and Environmental Performance of Existing and Emerging Public Transportation Technologies, brings to public transit planners a systematic and objective analysis of the performance of emerging fuels for transit bus systems.

The Alternative Fuels Analysis Tool (AFAT) is a Microsoft Excel workbook that allows users to compare different forms of conventional and alternative fuels. The premise of AFAT is for a transit authority interested in altering the fuel type in all or some of his/her bus fleet. Default values from the 1996 Battelle Alternative Fuels Transit Bus Evaluation Results study are embedded in the workbook and act as a base for the tool. The user also may supply their own values for any or all of the components used in the analysis.

Internet Explorer users should be able to click on the .xls file and have it open in the current frame (or in MS Excel).
Netscape users may need to download the .zip file, unzip it, and open it on their local computer.
